I'm back

Hello to my 1 or 2 faithful readers. Sorry about the absence but they came for my original tree because they had run out of paper to print the Health Care Bill and needed more. So, I had to move and find a new tree and that took longer than I expected (who would have thought they needed so much paper....). But hopefully I have found a tree that I can squat in for the forseeable future.

Since this is a return post I won't take up much time and space, I just wanted to say hi and that I was back. But I do have one small thing I wanted to say and will hopefully expand on it over the coming days and months but we shall see...

Is anyone else out there as sick and tired of all the blaming going on in America today? This side says EVERYTHING is the fault of that side and vice versa, and yet neither side presents a credible or workable solution or fix. The intention seems to be to get everyone at each others throats and screaming at one another while they sneak away with out money and our country.

I have friends on both sides of the political aisle and I respect them and their views. They all want the best for our country (my friends not the politicians), they just disagree on the ways or methods to accomplish this. However, the politicians do not have our or the country's best interests at hear.. on either side, either party. All they care about is maintaining their power, funding their retirements, and funding their vacations. And for all their rhetoric, they all (from both sides) agree on that and don't really believe what they spout for the camera's. It is one big club that peasants like you and I don't belong to. If we would all just realize our place in life is to work for them and support them, then all would be well. (for those who can't read between the lines, that last was sarcasm).

But I want to speak to those "peasants" such as myself on both sides. First to the Left: If you want to have your ideas and policies considered seriously by the opposite side then stop being hypocritical. If some of the plans you support would provide powers to the government that you wouldn't like or want the government to have should the government be run by the Republicans then don't support them just because the Democrats are currently in power. Think ahead for a change instead of just reacting emotionally, throw some logic in the mix. If you are against our intervention in foreign countries (wars, etc) when the Right is in charge then be consistent and hold your Left administration to the same standard. Don't cry foul about treatment of terrorists in Gitmo while applauding abortion, be against them both or support them both but you can't have it both ways (am I gonna take some heat for this one). Don't support the administration when they say Jihad is a legit tenent of Islam (and isn't hate or hate speech) but say that Christians who speak out against homesexuality (which they hold to be wrong, again you don't have to agree)are guilty of hate (and hate speech) and that their belief is not a legit tenent of their faith. If it is wrong at one time or in one context, it is wrong in ALL times and ALL contexts. All we ask is drop the hypocrisy and you will find the right (the common people not the politicians) willing to listen and seriously consider your ideas.

Now to the right: quit ignoring every problem and considering the Left's opinions to be wrong or ignorant. They see the world and things differently than you do and only by seriously considering them, giving it thought, and debate can a real solution be developed. You don't have all the answers or solutions and neither do they. In a complex society as ours is, it takes compromise. You don't have to compromise your principles (nor should you) but you can compromise on the minor things. And just like I told the Left, if something you support or agree to when your side is in charge of the government that you would not want the other side to have over you when they are in charge then don't support it just because you may be in charge at the moment. If it is wrong in one time or context, it is wrong in all times and contexts.

Continued blaming and screaming at each other is not going to get anything fixed or solved. Hold the politicians responsible and remove them and let a new batch try and if they fail, then in 2 years throw them out and try again.. keep trying till we find those who will do the right and best thing for America. Not for themselves, not for the unions, not for the special interests, not for the global interest, not for anyone or anything other than America. Demand that the Left stay our of pocket books and our daily decisions, and that the Right stay out of our bedrooms and daily decisions.
